How many cycles and how long a time period should be needed when using INFINITE mode to measure jitter?

Question :

How many cycles and how long a time period should be needed when using INFINITE mode to measure jitter?

Answer :

A real-time capture of 10uS will show about 12000 2.5Gb edges. An ET mode capture of 12,000 edges will take about a ten seconds to accumulate in WfmDB mode. The TDSJIT3 TIE result includes jitter from 100kHz (1/10us) to the bandwidth of the scope (8GHz for a TDS6804B). The eye diagram includes jitter from 0.1Hz (1/10s) to the bandwidth limit of the scope.
