Why can't I save my 500K point waveform onto the 1.44-MB floppy disk?

Question :

Why can't I save my 500K point waveform onto the 1.44-MB floppy disk?

Answer :

Each point of waveform data on the AWG400 series, AWG500 series, AWG610 and AWG710 generators takes 2 to 5 bytes of memory/disk space plus a small header on top of that. This means that if you are using a .PAT format file you could fit a little over 500 K point waveform file on a floppy disk. Using the .WFM format, you would only be able to fit a little more than a 250K point file on a floppy disk.
