In the free run mode, the SPG1000 option 16 can supply sync and test signals for the following formats:

- 625/50/1:1
- 1250/50/2:1
- 1250/50/1:1
- 1125/60/2:1 (1035 active line test signals, 1035I or 1080I compatible trilevel sync)
- 1125/59.94/2:1 (1035 active line test signals, 1035I or 1080I compatible trilevel sync)
