World's Smallest Full-Featured Waveform Monitor and Rasterizer for Content Creation, Post Production, and Broadcast
Tektronix now offers the compact WFM5200 waveform monitor and WVR5200 rasterizer to meet the needs of video content production, post production, and broadcast for affordable waveform monitoring that can be tailored to specific applications through software options.
The world's smallest full-featured waveform rasterizer and waveform monitor that can monitor up to four 3G-SDI signals simultaneously, the WFM/WVR5200 products are well suited for use in OB vans, studio control rooms, and post production houses doing editing, special effects and color correction. With software that can be tailored to specific applications, the new instruments meet the growing trend toward "fit for purpose" products that can easily be integrated into an existing system architecture.
3D Video Stereoscopic Monitoring for Production and Post-Production
New displays for 3D production work help production teams determine the differences between the Left Eye and Right Eye images.
- 3D Difference Map Display: Effectively detect disparity between the Left Eye and the Right Eye images during camera setup (alignment) of 3D production or 3D post production.
- Anaglyph Display: Identify parallax (3D depth) of objects within the 3D video image.
- Checkerboard Display: Identify differences in luminance levels (brightness), focus, and various color characteristics between the Left Eye and the Right Eye images.
- Disparity Grid: Overlay 3D picture displays to monitor depth of objects within a 3D image.
New Audio Tests for Tektronix Cerify - Automated quality control for file-based content
Tektronix Cerify now has unique tests for audio loudness which can be performed in the same test cycle but by applying different loudness test parameters to different groups of channels. New content mapping capabilities allow the creation of a content map in order to apply test rules to parts of content. In addition, new multi-track audio testing enables testing all audio tracks within a file with just a single pass.
RF Network Monitoring for ISDB-Tb Broadcast QoS
Tektronix announces the RFM220 ISDB-Tb RF Video Monitor which enables broadcast network operators to remotely monitor broadcast network Quality of Service (QoS) and remotely diagnose network issues. The RFM220 can not only monitor the physical layer RF signal for error detection but also the underlying MPEG video transport stream. This helps engineers determine whether problems are occurring in the physical layer – which could require time-consuming travel to a remote location – or in stream syntax or metadata.
Sentry 5.0 Delivers the Only Scalable Solution for Monitoring Perceptual Video Quality at Full GigE Line Rate
This new release enables Sentry to perform in-depth monitoring of video streams at full line rate — 1 Gbps per unit. No other video monitoring solution on the market can match Sentry's speed and monitoring depth.
This performance enables video service providers to monitor hundreds of video streams per unit, which reduce the number of Sentrys to comprehensively monitor a large multi-channel lineup.
Sentry 5.0 introduces eMOS, or Perceptual Video Quality, which helps service providers tackle content errors where the QoE score is good but the program suffers artifacts due to over-compression which is common in motion intensive programs like sports.
PQA600 Picture Quality Analyzer Adds Quality scores and Analysis Depth
Next generation compression algorithms are enabling broadcasters to scale video from high-end plasmas to mobile handsets, while increasing the complexity of CODEC designs for manufacturers. As these new compression technologies are deployed to distribution and archive, the importance of chrominance measurements and 10 bit measurement increases.
To respond to these needs, Tektronix new software release addresses the need to scale Picture Quality measurements in terms of the speed and portability of the analysis platform, the Picture Quality scores, and the analysis depth. For Advanced Analysis, the Advanced Option (Option ADV) offers designers a 10 bit measurement execution for evaluating emerging 10 bit encoding algorithm, and a Color PSNR measurement with Vector Display. For evaluation and trials of transcoders with an IP interface, the PQASW includes and embedded reference decoder and IP interface (with option IP) plus simultaneous IP and SDI connectivity that enables engineers to connect the PQA600 directly to an encoder with SDI input and IP output or a decoder with IP input and SDI output. The new IP generation/capture in conjunction with the embedded reference decoder contributes the most efficient, reliable and convenient PQ measurement for testing IP Video.

Audio Loudness Analysis with VQS1000 Video & Audio Quality Analyzer
New software upgrade!
The upgrade adheres to the ATSC A/85 Recommendation and ITU-R BS.1770-1/1771 specifications. It includes capabilities such as an LKFS Audio Loudness Meter, an Audio Loudness Session Display, and trending and alarm reporting information.
The VQS1000 is ideal for network analysis tool troubleshooting QoE problems and tracing them back to the underlying QoS root cause.
MTS4EA Elementary Stream Analyzer Enhancements
The Tektronix MTS4EA Elementary Stream Analyzer provides a number of codec enhancements, including an update to the H.264/AVC JM reference codec, and support for Scalable Video Coding (SVC) and the AVC Intra profiles. The MTS4EA supports the Baseline, High and High Intra profiles. The AVC Intra profiles provide a means for H.264/AVC to be used for production quality, HD video purposes, such as editing, archiving and contribution. The MTS4EA supports the High10, High422, High444 and CALVC Intra profiles.
