Tektronix Names New Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing
BEAVERTON, Ore., June 23, 2004 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), a leading test, measurement, and monitoring company today announced the appointment of John Major as Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing Operations.
Major, most recently Vice President of Service, will be responsible for worldwide manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and manufacturing engineering reporting to CEO Rick Wills. Major rejoined Tektronix in the fall of 2003 after serving as Vice President of Customer Service and Support for Xerox Office Group and Office Printing Business (formerly Tektronix Color Printing and Imaging Division, CPID). Prior to joining Xerox, Major worked for Tektronix in CPID as Director, Printer Manufacturing as well as Manufacturing Director for both Print Heads and Ink Manufacturing. He began his career at Digital Equipment Corp., where he held a number of engineering and manufacturing positions.
Major's experience in manufacturing, engineering and management will be utilized to create and implement a manufacturing structure that best supports the company's strategic initiatives and utilizes the talent, experience, and strengths of the current manufacturing management team.
Major has an MBA and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington. He serves on the Advisory Council for Outward Bound.
