DataVu-PC

When combined with the signal recording capabilities of the full line of Tektronix Real-Time Spectrum (Signal) Analyzers, DataVu-PC can turn hours of attended monitoring into fast post-acquisition search, mark, and measurement tasks. Analyze your results without adding the extra step of conversion software.

DataVu-PC analysis software is specifically designed for record and playback applications and makes short work of searching through large datasets for any signal of interest. You can use triggers to start recording, minimize storage requirements using windowing, and automate your signal search with tools like frequency mask, pulse descriptor words and smart markets.

DataVu-PC software can also be used to perform dual band monitoring. For example, when coupled with two RSA instruments, users can record, playback and examine two independent frequencies and spans simultaneously. For example, if you’re searching for a specific signal, you can see a very wide bandwidth in one display, to quickly determine, for instance, what frequency the interfering signal is at, while also zooming in to see narrowband signals in real-time on another display, to get a better look at the signal of interest while continuing to monitor the other bands of interest. It provides the ability to record and playback two RF channels simultaneously and apply time offset when necessary.

  • Advanced record and playback software for use with Tektronix RSAs
  • Supports up to 2 instruments or independent files simultaneously
  • Search based on signal amplitude characteristics, marking each event occurrence for later examination
  • Make an unlimited number of Scalar pulse measurements with the eMarker application and export the results in Pulse Descriptor Word format for integration into other workflows.
  • Export results to in-depth analysis packages like SignalVu-PC from within DataVu-PC – without any additional conversion software.

Features

Benefits

Licenses available according to the bandwidth of the captured signal. Minimizes cost of recording solutions by using files from all Tektronix recording solutions (RSA300 / RSA500 / RSA600 / RSA5000 / RSA7100 Series).
Color-graded Spectrogram Minimizes time to intercept with real time spectrograms. Ease transient and co-channel interference finding.
Color-graded spectrum density display Visualizes infrequent signal occurrences and displays time and frequency relationships, reducing analysis time
FFT overlap and speed control Optimizes between highest probability of intercept vs. analysis time
Power vs. time display Provides streaming zero-span display for detailed pulse analysis
Export areas of interest to .XDAT, SIQ, and .TIQ formats Enables analysis with specialized tools including SignalVu-PC, minimizing time to solution
File progress bar Gives analysis position at a glance, with visual display of marker events
User settable sliders for start/stop point Saves time in re-examination of signals of interest
Time Overview display Provides a time domain view of the entire record in one picture. Zoom and reanalyze in other domains for fast data reduction
eMarkers Stores search, analysis, hardware trigger and other information in exportable tabular format
Pulse analysis Calculates start/stop time, average/peak power, pulse width and PRI in PDW format on an unlimited number of pulses, reducing the need for other analysis tools

DataVu-PC unlicensed version is free

DataVu-PC’s unlicensed version converts R3F formatted files to XDAT and .tiq formats, and can convert 12-bit recorded data from the RSA7100A to 16-bit for use with other programs. A small playable recording is included with the download of DataVu-PC, and you can see spectrum/spectrogram, time domain and pulse measurements on this short file.

Add a SPAN kit or measurement upgradesSPAN license based upon your measurement bandwidth needs, and SMARK and/or PULSE licenses per your application need. Node locked licenses let you move to a new PC three times. Floating licenses allow selected users to manage individual licenses. All trials are floating licenses.

DataVu-PC trial license available

A 30 day trial license is available that enables all bandwidth and measurement functionality

Multi-instrument recording (MREC)

Be two places at once with the DVPC-MREC application, enabling independent control of 2 instruments. Other features include:

  • The ability to scan wide areas of spectrum for interference or spectrum occupancy for band clearing/enforcement.
  • Scanning a wide range of frequencies with the ability to then zoom in at the same time for recording, allowing the user to monitor the whole environment while focusing on a suspected problem.
  • Field recording of RF environments and operation during live testing, which is essential to post-test analysis.
  • Using two independent instruments for uplink/downlink and IF/RF monitoring, meaning the two instruments can be viewed simultaneously at independent frequency, span and power level. The two USB spectrum analyzers are controlled from a single software package.
